pollination

there's no such thing as too much chocolate
as opposed to what you said about it.

there's no such thing as too much knowledge
although there might be regrets of knowing too much.

when does a teaching turn into a lecture
when does a praise turn into an insult
when does a question turn into an assumption
when does a conversation turn into an argument
when does a promise turn into a joke
when does a mass of confusion turn clear

when does love turn into war

Wish List

I wish you could have been there
for the sun&rain&the long hard hills.
For the sound of a thousand conversations
scattered along the road.
For the people laughing&crying&remembering
at the end.
But mainly, I wish you could have been there

It's hardest to love the ordinary things,
but you have plenty of opportunities to practice.

cross perceptions

I raised you to be a success
and now I'm the frailing one
You show me love through materials
instead of a warm embrace and words
You talk about me in another language
thinking I don't understand
You say you want a bullet through your head
if you turn out to be like me in your nines
Don't be too soon to speak.

You tell me what to do
where to work, what to eat
Its too much when you tell me what to wear
You tell me to gain independence
but you've been the shelter over my life
You've been the best and worst in me
You've brought out the beautiful
and ugly in me
I can only obey in fear of being wrong

Words as I know it

luck- being given without asking

success- respect without envy
respect- needed before being liked
envy- greed without desire to work to achieve it

beauty- loving the imperfections
love- is the ultimatum of happiness
happiness- comfortable with who you are & what you have

coincidence- a pleasant form of fate
fate- a meeting of opportunity
opportunity- overlooked significant moments

life- a messy combination that encompasses all

Dance With Your Years

Recently thinking about what it was like to be young again without knowledge of fear and stress for burdens, I came across this photo on my mum's Mac. Melbourne, 1987.

When did I lose the right
to say "I am",
Proclaim "I live",
declare "I love"?

Why did I lose the right
to think of joy,
desire life
and wish for tomorrow?

Who snatched my right
to say "I hope and
want another fate"...
